TOWN OF TRIANGLE
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON FIRE PROTECTION CONTRACT
OF THE TOWN OF TRIANGLE FOR THE YEAR 2008
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held by the Town Board ("Town Board") of the Town of Triangle ("Town") on November 8, 2007 commencing at 8:00 PM at the Triangle Town Hall, 2612 Liberty Street, Whitney Point, New York for the purpose of considering a new fire protection contract between Town and Village of Whitney Point Fire Company, Inc. (hereinafter "Fire Company").
Said new contract shall be upon the following general terms, to wit:
1.  The Fire Company shall, at all times during the period of said contract be subject to call for attendance upon any fire occurring in Whitney Point Fire Protection District (Hereinafter "District") which embraces the whole of the said  Town outside the corporate limits of the Village of Whitney Point, and  shall respond and attend upon all fire calls in said District.

2.   For such services, a payment in the amount of $ 37,500.00      shall be made by the Town to the Fire Company for the year 2008

3.   Such contract shall continue for a period of one year, from January 1, 2008 until December 31, 2008, and such contract shall be deemed renewed on the same basis each year thereafter for a further term of one calendar year unless one of the contracting parties shall notify the other in writing on or before the twentieth day of August that it elects to terminate the contract on December thirty-first in that year.  The term of such contract, including renewals, shall not exceed five years.

4.   Such contract shall contain such other incidental terms and provisions as may be necessary or proper in connection with such contracting.

Copies of the proposed contract are on file and may be examined at the office of the undersigned Town Clerk.  All persons interested in the matter will be heard at the above-described public hearing.  Citizens have the right to provide written and oral comments and ask questions concerning the proposed contract or any portion thereof.  Handicapped citizens or senior citizens who require assistance in attending said public hearing, or in furnishing comments and suggestions, should contact the undersigned Town Clerk to request such assistance.
